Obituary of Keith Heighton

R. Keith Heighton, age 76, of Elm Steet, Pictou, passed away suddenly unexpectedly Monday, May 30, 2011 at his home. Born in Westville, he was a son of the late Albert and Henrietta (Courts) Heighton. Keith grew up in Westville and moved to Pictou where he resided for the past 40 years. Keith had worked at the Nova Scotia Power Commission and later at Hawker Siddeley for several years until his retirement. Keith loved to hunt and fish, however, his main enjoyment was his home and family. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 55 years, Yvonne (Wallace); daughters, Henrietta Cyr (Butch), Pictou; Carole (Arthur LeBlanc), St. Anthonie, NB; Patsy Matheson (Ken), Scotch Hill; Debbie Gower (Dale), West River Station; Gail (Joey Chisholm), Pictou; 15 grandchildren; 18 great grand-children; also by sisters and brothers-in-law, Marg Heighton, Bernard Clark, Ethel Russell, Shirley Armstrong, Sandra MacDonald (Robert), and Audrey Wallace. Keith was predeceased by his son David and brother Glenn. Visitations will be held Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. His funeral service will be held 2 o’clock Friday at Eagles Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Doug Pilsworth officiating. Burial will be in Haliburton Cemetery, Pictou. Family flowers only. Donations in his memory may be made to the N.S. Heart & Stroke or the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
