Obituary of Betty Wadden

Martha Elizabeth "Betty" Wadden, age 78, of Church Street, formerly of Campbells Road, Westville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, with her family by her side. Born in College Grant, Antigonish Co., she was a daughter of the late George and Margaret (Bray) Carroll. Betty took great interest in her gardening, and enjoyed playing cards, and bowling with the Tuesday Morning Bowling League. She had a great faith and was a member of the Church of the Holy Name, Westville, however, family was always her biggest interest and part of her life. She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Linda Crosby, Westville, Mary, Stellarton, Karen Bears (Ron), Halifax, Cathy MacIntosh (Gordie), Westville; sons, Jerry, Halifax, Joe, Westville, 13 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren; son-in-law Gary Crosby (Theresa) , Mark Road ; brothers, Leon (Irene), Ont.; Ted (Mary), New Glasgow; and sisters, Jeanette Rogers, Thorburn; and Connie Salter, Stellarton. She was predeceased by her husband John James "Jim" Wadden; son Terry; and daughter Lorraine Crosby. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Her memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday from the Church of the Holy Name, Westville with Father Donald Boudreau officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Name Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
