Obituary of Annie Platt

Annie Mae Platt, 87 of Valley View Villa formerly of Kirk Avenue, Stellarton passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2011 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Windsor, she was a daughter of the late Steven and Grace (Lauthers) Leighton. She was a Lab Technician at the Aberdeen Hospital for many years until her retirement and was a member of Sharon St. John United Church. Annie was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Carol Lambert (Chuck Facey), Pictou Landing; grand daughters, Claire (Rowan Wilson), Victoria, B.C.; Tish Hyslop (Brent), Hampton, N.B.; great grand children, T.J., Erik, Mara, Ayla, Becky, Gregory and Jenna; step grand children, Doug (Joyce), Amanda and Michael Facey; step great grand children, Jasmine and Kyle; and sisters-in-law, Lillian Gosman, Pat Leighton and Iva Leighton. Annie was predeceased by her husband, Henry; son-in-law, Bill Lambert; sisters, Frances in infancy, Marjorie Baxter and Eva Redden; brothers, Roy, Burton, Norm, Carl, Hermie, Victor, Ron, Ernest , Lawrence and Allan Leighton. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 7-9 pm at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Her funeral service will be held 2 o’clock Wednesday from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with the Rev.
