Obituary of Peter Brimicombe
Peter Lawrence Brimicombe, 50, of Hoyt Street, Westville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 6, 2011 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, after a short illness.
Born November 18, 1960, he was the son of Lily (Grist) Brimicombe and the late George Brimicombe.
Peter lived his whole life in Westville. He was a graduate of Westville High and the Nova Scotia Community College. He worked at various jobs throughout the years, with the longest, and his favourite, being Custodian for St. Andrew’s Church in Westville over the last 14 years.
There was no bigger fan than Peter of the Beatles, and his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs. He was known also for his love of animals; he had a weakness for any stray cat that wandered in. Peter was a favourite uncle to his many nieces and nephews; who enjoyed spending time with him and playing his computer games. One of his favourite places was the cottage, where he loved to garden and spend time at the beach.
He will be sadly missed, besides his mother, by sisters Gina McCulloch (Dave Lundie), Shubenacadie; Cheryl (Gary) Ward, Little Harbour; Donna (Bill) Scott, Trenton; Sandra (Mike) McCulloch, Springville; Alice (Harold) MacKay, Trenton; Alta (Tom) Owen, New Glasgow; brothers Dave (Jolene), Mount William; Eric (Maureen), Trenton; and Ray of Halifax.
Visitations will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Monday at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. His funeral service will be held Tuesday, 2:00 p.m. from St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Westville with the Rev. Jeff Lackie officiating. Burial will be in Auburn Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in Peter’s memory may be made to St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Westville or to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
