Obituary of Florence MacDonald

Florence Isabel MacDonald, 94, of Salem, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 12, 2011 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Gairloch, she was a daughter of the late Hector and Georgina (Johnson) MacKenzie. She was a member of Salem Presbyterian Church. She was a very active person, with her greatest enjoyment being her home, family, and friends. She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Marion, Pleasant Valley; Fern (Eric), Pleasant Valley; sons, Wayne (Edie), Summerside, PEI; Gary (Mary Gwen), Alma; Burris, Salem; and Albert (Val), Salem; grandchildren, Jody, Michelle, Ross, Adrian, Albert, Jason, Lisa, and Meghan;, and eleven great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Ethel MacCulloch, Guelph, Ont.; and brothers, Hector (Eleanor) MacKenzie , Salem; Ian (Alice)MacKenzie, Millbrook. She was predeceased by her husband Grant; daughter in law Olga; sister Mary MacLean; and brothers, Johnson and Daniel "Tanner" MacKenzie. Visitations will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Saturday from Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Her funeral service will be held 3:30 p.m. Sunday from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with the Rev. Charles MacPherson officiating. Burial will be in the Durham Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the I.W.K. Children’s Hospital
