Obituary of Anita McIntyre
Anita Louise McIntyre, 46, of MacKay Street, Stellarton, passed away peacefully and suddenly in the Q.E.II Hospital on Sunday, September 4, 2011 with her family at her side.
Born in New Glasgow, she is a daughter of Diane Stewart (Everett Smith), Brookville and Robert McIntyre (Sharon), Halifax.
Anita operated LeCafe at Sobey’s Head Office for the past few years. Prior to Sobey’s, Anita and her husband owned and operated A&T Diner in Westville for several years.
Anita was instrumental with her husband in opening the Westville Academy of Boxing. Recently, she took a keen interest in raising and showing her dogs, especially her pets Charlie Girl, Pixie, and Rumour, and was a member of the Pictou County Kennel Club. Most of all, Anita’s greatest love was to her family, especially being very proud of her children and grandchildren.
She will be sadly missed by her partner in life, Tom Davis; a daughter Sherry MacKenzie (James "Bo"), Loch Broom; two sons, Stephen McIntyre, Pictou, and Dukus Davis (Nicole Marshall), Blue Acres; grandchildren, Jillian, Cejay, and Cheyenne MacKenzie; Kylie Graham; and baby Anna Davis. She is also survived by sisters Susan Ryan, Stellarton; Nicole Atwell (Tom "Slick"), New Glasgow; Traci Lindsay (Ryan), Halifax; brothers, Lee McIntyre (Donna), New Glasgow; Christopher Lumsden (Jennifer), Trenton.
Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Her memorial service will be held 2 o’clock Thursday from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with the Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
