Obituary of Frances Germany
With sadness we the Family of Mary Frances Germany announce her passing on December 7th 2011. Our Mother was born on March 31 1920 in to a wonderful family of seven girls and one boy and had an amazing Mother and Father. Her life in the Red Row of Stellarton was full of hard work and many good times. Her witty stories of the people that visited her home and all her friends' stories would have made a best seller novel.
Frances enjoyed keeping her home immaculate and cozy. Her talent for cooking, baking, knitting and crocheting is well known and her homemade socks have travelled as far as the west coast. Hard work was no stranger to her and she passed it on to all her children. We will miss her so much but she is now at peace.
Her hard work ethics were expressed in her working career. She was an employee of Zellers Stores, New Glasgow for 25 years and later in life was an employee at Wear Well Garments Stellarton.
Frances was the daughter of the late John William and Mina Marie (Fitt) Carrigan. She is survived by three children: George Dooley Westville; Leigh Dooley New Orleans USA and Norma (Tom) O'Brien Westville; grandchildren Wade (Brenda) Dooley; Kevin (Darla) Dooley; Lynette (Todd) Kennedy; Kristin (Cameron) Ferrell; Tracy O'Brien (Bruce Annand); Nicole O'Brien (Blaine Dobinson); Pat (Jennifer) O'Brien; and eight great-grandchildren; a sister Virginia Cunningham Stellarton. Several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her first husband Harry Nash Dooley (1977) and her second husband Marvin Eugene Germany (1990) by five sisters Beatrice Doucette, Johanna Heighton, Willa Chadwick, Florence Copeland, Marguerite Barton; brother George Carrigan; infant brother John William and daughter in law Elizabeth (Pace) Dooley.
Cremation has taken place and at the request of the deceased there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family graveside service will be held Friday December 16th 2011 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Doug Pilsworth officiating. Intermit will be in St. Bee's Cemetery. Donations in Frances memory can be made to Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke or a charity of one's choice.
