Obituary of Katherine MacDonald
Mary Katherine MacDonald of Watervale, Pictou County, passed away at age 92 early Saturday, January 7th, 2012 in Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow.
Katherine, born October 10th, 1919 in Green’s Brook, Pictou County was the eldest and only daughter of five children born to the late Donald and Nellie Cameron (Cameron).
Katherine was a graduate of Normal College and taught schools in various areas including; Green’s Brook, Little Harbour, Millbrook, West River Station and Watervale. She was a former member of the Rebekah Lodge, St. Luke’s United Church and the U.C.W.
Katherine was known for her exceptional memory, wise words of wisdom and kind heart. She was truly someone special to all people who knew her. Katherine has touched the lives of many people. She will be missed dearly by sons, Eldon (Linda), Braeshore, and Alex (Darlene) Watervale; grandchildren, Michelle (Simon), Gatineau, Que.; Laura, Halifax; Alisha and Heather, Watervale; great grand children, Mathieu and Sarah Bonneville; brothers, Arnold (Dorothy) Cameron, New Glasgow and Gordon (Anna) Cameron, East River St. Mary’s.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 54 years Franklin, as well as brothers Henry and Stanley Cameron.
Visitations were held on . at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Her funeral service was held at 11 am Wednesday from St. Luke’s United Church, Salt Springs with Rev. Sheila Redden-Smith officiating. Burial was in Hill Cemetery, Watervale. Donations can be made to St. Luke’s United Church or a charity of your choice.
