Obituary of Isabel Wassen
Isabel Victoria Wadden, age 95, Greenwood Street, Westville, Pictou County, passed away at her home following a period of failing health on November 27, 2008.
Leaving to mourn her passing is Struan, her loving husband of 68 years. She is also survived by a brother Garfield Slater, New Glasgow/Pictou.
She was predeceased by a sister Ellen.
Isabel was a homemaker, making a home in Westville as well as at their cottage on Sinclair’s Island where all family and friends were welcomed with a pleasing smile, a cup of tea, and sweets. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church, Westville, and a member of the Crystal Fountain Rebekah Lodge for seventy years. She will be remembered with love by her several nieces and nephews. A special thank you is extended to all those who so lovingly cared for Isabel when she became unable to do so for herself; you kindness will always be remembered by Struan and his extended family.
Visitations were held at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville . The Crystal Fountain Rebekah Lodgeconducted a service at at the Funeral Home. Her funeral service was held from the Eagles Funeral Chapel on Sunday at 2 o’clock with Rev. Doug Pilsworth officiating. Interment took place in the Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations to her memory may be made to the St. Paul United Church, Westville or a charity of your choice. Born in Westville, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Slater.
