Obituary of Jimmy Welch

John James Arthur “Jimmy” Welch, 72, Campbell’s Lane, Westville, passed away on Wednesday, January, 11, 2012 in the Aberdeen Palliative Care Unit, New Glasgow. Originally from Lansdowne, he was a son of the late Charles and Violet (Miller) Welch. He was a pulp truck driver for most of his career and fondly known as the “Ford Man” by those who knew him well. He is survived by his three daughters, Janet (John MacEachern), Edmonton ; Cheryl Stewart (Jamie), Rocklin; and Wanda (Rhyan Westergard), Edmonton; grandchildren, Jayna, Tyler, Lauren, Melissa, Quinn, Alex and Emily. He is also survived by a brother George, Halifax and sister Ann, St. John, NB. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Barbara Florence (Munro); and brother Charles. Visitations were held at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. His funeral service was held 11 o’clock Saturday from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with the Rev. Jeff Lackie officiating. Burial was in St. Andrew’s Cemetery, Gairloch. Donations in his memory may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital
