Obituary of John Henry Coulet

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late John Henry "Johnny" Coulet, of Glen Haven Manor, formerly of , announces his passing on March 2, 2012, where he succumbed to heart disease and diabetes. Born in Westville, April 26, 1927, he was the son of the late Charles and Alvina (LeBlanc) Coulet. He was employed at the Drummond Coal Company, Westville for over 30 years until ill health forced an early retirement. While in their employ he was a member of a special crew of draegerman, trained in underground rescue work and emergency procedures. Johnny was a kind and generous man and a good friend to all who knew him. He had an excellent sense of humour even when facing his many challenges and always looked on the bright side of life. He enjoyed television, especially old westerns, space shows, local and world news. He was an avid reader, handyman, and pretty darned good cook. He was a lifetime member of the Holy Name Church, Westville, supported many charities and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Most of all, he was a patient and loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his loving daughters, Brenda Jacobs (Don), St. Eustache, Quebec; Gloria Young (Ron), New Glasgow; and Barbara Clarke (Donald), Stellarton; grandchildren, John Blair, Tim, Erin, and Lauren; sisters Mary Campbell, Clara Teed, and Dodie MacKenzie, and numerous nieces and nephews. Johnny was predeceased by his infant son, John Adrian; brothers, Joseph and Paul; and sister Elizabeth Jackson. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Services will be held at a later date.
