Obituary of Joan Bellefontaine

Joan Florence Bellefontaine, age 74, New Glasgow, passed away gently March 8, 2012 in the arms of her loving husband and sons at the Palliative Care Unit, Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. She was predeceased by her son Gordon; her parents Margaret and Warren Joudrey; brothers Raymond, Victor, Lewis, and Max and sisters Doris and Rita all of Halifax. She is survived by her husband George, New Glasgow; sons, Stephen and Lewis, Halifax; and sister Corinne Sampson, also of Halifax. Joan was well known and had many friends in the local bingo community. She was a talented, generous and caring woman who liked to give hugs and hand out pins and other handcrafts to anyone she liked and that was just about everybody. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held on Saturday, March 17, at 1 o’clock from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. No flowers please, donations may be made in her memory to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
