Obituary of Dorothy Maloney

Dorothy Marie Maloney, age 77 , formerly of Westville, passed away on Friday, March 16, 2012 in Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Martin and Jean (Scott) Maloney. Dorothy was a very thoughtful person who had a life time of caring for others. After the death of her parents, she worked at and cared for the residents at Glen Haven Manor. She resided in Trenton for a short time and after retirement moved to Strathcona Place in Pictou. She is survived by sisters, Isabel Chadwick; Elizabeth Munsie (Mel), all of Trenton. She was predeceased by sisters, Margaret Maloney, Gladys Anderson, Phyllis Kearns, and Sister Mary Maloney; and brothers Daniel, Charles, and Mike. Visitations were held on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Her funeral service was held 11 a.m. Monday March 19 from the Church of the Holy Name, Westville with Father Gerald Campbell officiating. Burial was in the Holy Name Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arthritis Society or a charity of one’s choice.
