Obituary of Muriel Sutherland

Muriel Irene Sutherland, age 85, of Scotsburn, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2012. Born in West Branch, she was a daughter of the late Hugh Daniel and Jennie (MacKay) MacKenzie. Mrs. Sutherland and her late husband operated Imperial Service Station in Scotsburn for several years and were mail carrier in Scotsburn for several years. She was also a school bus driver for over 20 years until her retirement and was a devoted care giver and companion to Walter Cock. She will be sadly missed by her son Daniel MacKenzie Sutherland and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Sutherland was predeceased by her husband Edison M. Sutherland; sisters, Jean Darrach, Mabel Laurie, Dorothy MacDonald, Joyce Watters, and brother James Hugh MacKenzie. Her funeral service will be held at 2 o’clock Wednesday April 4 from Burns Memorial Presbyterian Church, West Branch with the Rev. Lara Scholey officiating. Burial was in West Branch Cemetery.
