Obituary of John Charles Lockhart

John Charles "Bud" Lockhart, 79, of New Glasgow, formerly of Westville, passed away June 2, 2012, peacefully with his family by his side. He was the son of the late John C. and Violet (Little) Lockhart. John was employed with Scott Maritimes for 23 years. He enjoyed watching Hockey and baseball, and was a devoted Montreal Canadian Fan. He is survived by his wife Audrey (Ginley) Lockhart; his children, Debbie Coote (Dewight), Bridgewater; Derrick (Paula), New Minas; Donna Lockhart (Wayne), Calgary, Alb. He is also survived by his sisters Ella "Toot" Ogden (Doug), Jean Burgess (Bev), Marie Jenkins (Art); brothers Bill (Louise), Gerald (Jean), and sister-in-law Mary Lockhart. He was predeceased by his sister Claudia Guay (Jack) and brother Ralph Lockhart. The family would like to thank the Medical staff in the I.C.U. and Medical B at the Valley Regional Hospital in Kentville for their kindness and support. Visitations will be held from 7-9 p.m. Monday at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. His funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. from Eagles Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Lackie officiating. A reception will follow in St. Andrew’s Church Hall. Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of one’s choice.
