Obituary of Stanley Harrington
Stanley Everett Harrington, 94, of North Street, Westville, passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2012 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Tatamagouche, December 28, 1917 he was a son of the late Sidney and Florence (Mingo) Harrington.
Stan was a resident of East River Manor, New Glasgow for the past 7 years. He was a carpenter by trade, specializing in cabinetry. Stan enjoyed family gatherings and all outdoor activities. He was a kind and gentle spirit to everyone.
He will be sadly missed by his daughter Marilyn Robinson (Norris), Westville; sons John (Carolyn), Hardwood Hill; Allan (Lisa), Westville; grandchildren, Erika Nauss (Todd), Eastern Passage; Kirsten Sampson (Troy), Lower Coverdale; Diana Murphy (Christopher), Bonshaw, PEI; Selena Hawboldt (Jason), Millsville; Shawn Ross, New Glasgow; 11 great-grandchildren; and brother Arnold (Margaret), Ont.
He was predeceased by his wife Joan (Wood); sisters, Rita Maye, Rhoda Ouderkirk, and Vera Buckler.
Visitations will be held Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. His funeral service will be held 2 o’clock Monday from Eagles Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Doug Pilsworth officiating. Burial will be in the Birch Hill Cemetery, Rocklin. Donations in his memory may be made to St. Paul United Church, Westville or a charity of your choice.
