Obituary of Ken McLeod
Kenneth A. McLeod, 70, Braeshore, formerly of Plymouth Park, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2012 at his camp at Eight Island Lake, Goshen.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Joseph and Anita (Joyce) McLeod.
Ken served in The Canadian Air Force for 10 years and later worked at Michelin Tire for 15 years. He owned and operated the Bargain Tire Barn until his retirement due to ill health. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 34 and a member of the Legion Dart Team. Ken enjoyed curling and many other sports especially hunting and fishing at his camp. His greatest pride was his grand children and attending his grandson’s hockey games
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Helen (MacLean); sons, Scott (Shirley), Durham Todd (Jen Sheppard)), Halifax and grand children, Dylan, Corey, Mya and Christopher; sister, Jeanne Brooks (Murray), New Glasgow; brothers Peter (Joyce), Mt. William; Scott (Betty), Oshawa, Ontario; and mother in law, Elaine MacLean, Tanner Hill.
He was predeceased by sister, Sharon; brothers, Robert and Richard and infant twin grand children, Tyler and Kyle.
Cremation has taken place. Visitations were held Monday . at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch# 34 conducted a service on Monday at the Funeral Home. His memorial service was held 1 o’clock Tuesday , June 19, from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with Rev. Mary-Beth Moriarity officiating. Donations in his memory may be made to the M.S. Society or the Restorative Care Unit, (RCU) Pictou.
