Obituary of John Woodin

John Andrew Woodin, 53, of Westville, formerly of Upper Musquodoboit, passed away on Tuesday,June 19, 2012 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow with his loving wife at his side. Born in Upper Musquodoboit, he was a son of Russell Woodin, Westville and the late Shirley (Logan) Woodin. John shared his love of Blue Grass Festivals with his many friends and family, and Nascar races with his nephew Roderick. He had a great love of animals, especially his pet dogs Phoebe and Fred and had a special bond with his longtime friend Shaun who also became his brother-in-law. John will be sadly missed by his wife Kim (MacLean); daughter Briana, Halifax; sisters, Pam Dean (Rod), Truro; Stephanie Newsome (Shaun), Whitehorse; and was a special uncle to Roderick Dean (Pennie), Lindsay Verboom (Luke), and Tristan and Catherine Newsome. Besides his mother, he was predeceased by an infant brother Frederick. His family would like to extend a special "thank you" to Dr. Bradley MacDougall and Dr. Gerry Farrell and staff for their care and compassion given to John and a "thank you" to the V.O.N. for assisting Kim in caring for John. A memorial service for John was held 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Eagles Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Charles MacPherson officiating. . Donations in his memory may be made to A.L.S.
