Obituary of Isabel Fraser

Helen "Isabel" Fraser, Salt Springs passed away August 27, 2012 in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow with her three daughters by her side. Born on October 21,1919. Isabel was the daughter of Margaret and Harry Brown. She resided on the family farm in Stillman for over 90 years. Music was an important part of Isabel's life and for over 40 years she was organist in St. Luke's Presbyterian Church in Salt Springs and organist for Salem Presbyterian Church for 23 years. She was also a school bus driver for many years , retiring in 1984. Isabel had a strong faith and all aspects of church life were high on her priority list. She was a life member of the Salem Greenhill Missionary Society, also a member of St. Luke's Ladies Aid. She was a past member of the Salt Springs Institute. Having been in various choirs over the years, most notably the "Joyful Noise", Isabel was a noted alto singer. Education was important to her and at age 72 Isabel was so pleased to get her grade 12 diploma. Isabel possessed a great love and respect for all animals and birds and she thoroughly enjoyed working in her flower gardens. Isabel is survived by her daughters, Shirley(Kenny) MacDonald; Frances (Clark) Savage; Janet(David) Hogan; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grand children. She was predeceased by her husband Robert; and brothers Seward and Johnny. Isabel is resting at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 29 at 2p.m. from St. Luke's Presbyterian Church, Salt Springs. Rev Barb Fotheringham officiating. Burial in Stillman Cemetery with reception to follow. Family flowers only. Donations in Isabel's memory may be made to St. Luke's Presbyterian Church, Salt Springs or S.P.C.A.
