Obituary of Freddie Cake
George Frederick, "Freddie" Cake, age 54, Dieppe, NB, formerly of New Glasgow, passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2012 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late John and Cecile (Martin) Cake.
Freddie was boom truck operator, having worked various areas in Nova Scotia, and was an avid sports fisherman.
He is survived by daughters, Angela Griffiths, BC, Amanda Cake (Ryan), Truro, Shawna MacGillivray, Ohio; son, John Cecil "J.C.", CFB Wainwright, AB; brothers and sisters, John, New Glasgow, Yvonne Crawford (Jack), Westville; Gary (Cynthia), Truro, Darlene (Sandy), Dieppe, Betty Dean (Dave), New Glasgow, Lee Cake-Ryan (Todd), Stellarton; girlfriend Jackie Bard, New Brunswick; several nieces, nephews, and close friends.
His funeral service was held 11 am, Wednesday, September 12 with the Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Cremation will follow. Interment will be in the Mt. William Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
