Obituary of June MacKinnon

Moonyeen "June" MacKinnon, 79, Elm Street, New Glasgow, formerly of Pictou, passed away on Monday, September 10, 2012 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow with her family at her side. Born in Toronto, She was a daughter of the late George and Emily Whitley. With her husband in the military, June had lived in various areas of Canada and the U.S. She moved to Pictou Co. In 1976 and was employed as a banking officer with Scotiabank, Pictou until retirement. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 58 years, George "Ben"; her children, Brian (Doris) Braeshore, Ann Sorensen(Allan), Eastern Passage, Shelley English (Alan), Braeshore, Jamie Greenwalt (Leslie), Asheville, NC; four grandchildren, Sarah Black, Kingston, ON, Matthew Stone, Dartmouth, Scott MacKinnon, Pictou, and Casey Greenwalt, Asheville, NC; two great grandchildren, Logan Stone and Rosalie Stone. June was predeceased by a sister and two brothers. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday from 2-4 p.m. at the home of Shelley and Alan English, Braeshore. Donations may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
