Obituary of Robert Sutherland

James Robert "Bob" Sutherland, 63, of Pleasant Valley, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at his home. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Gordon and Bessie (Napier) Sutherland of Pleasant Valley. A welder by trade, he had worked at Glasgow Metals for 25 years and most recently with Maritime Tractors (Lawson Cooke) and MacPherson Trailers. Bob will be missed by his friends, especially bragging about his Chev and helping out on the neighbourhood farms. Bob was a devoted husband, loving father and proud papa. He will be sadly missed by his wife Margie (Robinson); daughter Roberta and son-in-law Jeff Graham, Timberlea; grandchildren Nicolas and Elizabeth; sisters, Beverly Mills, Toronto, Phyllis Hayter, Landsdowne; brother and sister-in-law, Gordon and Betty Jean Sutherland, Westville; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Johnny and Helen Robinson; Gordie and Betty Robinson; Annie and Bob Payne; Mary Lou and Keith Conway; Karen and Alex Ryan; Artie and Darlene Robinson; Barb Robinson; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers-in-law Fraser and Sandy Robinson and Sheldon Hayter; nephews Jonathan R. and David Robinson. Visitations was held Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. His funeral service was held Friday January 24 at 1 o’clock from Eagles Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Barb Fotheringham officiating. Burial took place in Birch Hills Cemetery, Rocklin. Family flowers only. Donations in his memory may be made to Birch Hill Cemetery.
