Obituary of Bill MacCabe

William Alexander Scott "Bill" MacCabe, 72, Central West River, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 26, 2013, in Colchester Regional Hospital. Born in Pictou, Bill was a son of the late Alvin and Gladys (MacDonald) MacCabe. Bill was a school bus driver and had operated a snow plow with the Dept. of Highways for several years. Bill owned and operated his own trucking and excavating company and was also co-owner of MacCabe’s Mobile Home Park, Central West River. He will be sadly missed by his wife Edith Mae "Edie" (MacKenzie); daughter Joanne MacCabe, Central West River; 3 sons, Steven, Langley B.C.; Craig (Tina O’Connell) Middle Stewiacke; Jim (Kim Boudreau), Thunder Bay; daughter-in-law Wendy MacCabe, Fall River; grandchildren, Winston George; Emma MacCabe, Sarah MacCabe and Tate MacCabe; sisters, Barbara Ann Grant (Ira), Caribou; Colleen Parker (Bob), Central West River; brothers, John Alvin (Shirley), Loch Broom and Duncan (Robin Barkhouse), Loch Broom; brother-in-law Robert "Bob" MacKenzie (Mae Bigney), Alma; and several nieces and nephews. Visitations were held Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. His funeral service was held 2 o’clock Thursday, Januray 31 from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with the Rev. Barb Fotheringham officiating. Burial was in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Family flowers only, donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
