Obituary of Ted Rogers
Theodore Nelson "Ted" Rogers, 72, of Reservoir Street, Westville, formerly of Thorburn passed away on Friday February 1, 2013 at his home with his family at his side.
Born in Thorburn, he was a son of the late Eddie and Mary (Boutilier) Rogers.
Ted owned and operated Rogers Fuels for over 30 years. He was an avid sports fan enjoying all sports and enjoyed meeting with his friends for coffee. Ted was a very proud father and grandfather, his favourite past time was playing with his grand children.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Dorothy (Hawboldt); daughters Maureen Rogers and Donna Canning (Clayton), of Westville; sons, Kevin (Carrie), Caribou; Derrick (Barb), Cole Harbour; David (Tanya), Westville, chosen son Bruce "Kid" Holley, Eureka; 12 grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Jerry, Thorburn and Roy, Stellarton; sisters, Virginia Heighton, Stellarton; Eleanor Wagg, Halifax; Jeannie Kenney, Thorburn; Marilyn Uranick, Toronto; father-in-law Richard A. Hawboldt, High Crest Manor.
Ted was predeceased by brothers, Frank Rogers, Gerald Vacheresse, and Harry Rogers; sisters Patsy MacCann, Tina Urquhart, Paulette Terris, Rita Gujnes and mother in law, Eliza Hawboldt.
His family will receives visitors on Tuesday Feb. 5. at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. His funeral service was held 11 a.m. Wednesday Feb. 6 at the Church of the Holy Name, Westville with Father Gerald Campbell officiating. Interment will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Donations in Ted’s memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
