Robert Angus "Bob" Russell, 77, of Queen Street, Westville, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 12, 2009 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Westville, Bob was a son of the late Angus and Ella Mae (Gordon) Russell.
Bob was a general contractor, having owned and operated a trucking and backhoe service for many years, retiring in 1994. After retirement, he enjoyed working in his shop and assisting his son who continued his family business. Bob was a hard working individual which was seen by his care and pride that he had taken in his property. He was a 50 years member of Scotia Lodge #11 I.O.O.F. and a member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 58 years Ethel (Wallace); daughter, Elizabeth Reim (Butch), Georgia; a son Jack (Coleen), Westville; grandchildren, Joe, Rob, Kim, and Amanda Reim; Suzannah Nickerson and Tammy and Robert Russell; nine great grandchildren; and nephews, Robert White, Stellarton, and Earl White, Myrtle Beach.
He was predeceased by his daughter Yvonne MacGrath; a son Robert "Bobby"; sister Jessie Finn; and a brother Jack Russell.
Visitations will be held on Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Scotia Lodge #11 will conduct a service on Monday at 6:15 at the funeral home. His funeral service will be held 1 o’clock Tuesday from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with Rev. Norman Marple officiating, assisted by Rev. Charles MacPherson. Burial will be in the Gairloch Cemetery. Family flowers only.
