Obituary of Dorothy Pushie

The family of Dorothy Alice Jean Pushie regrets to announce her passing on April 19, 2013 in the Aberdeen Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Westville on September 22, 1933, she was the youngest daughter of Alfred and Pearl Matheson. Dorothy was a former employee of Fraser & Hoyt for over 40 years, first in Insurance then in Travel, where she retired as a Branch Manager. She was a member of L.O.B.A. # 609, Westville and the Westville Chapter of Eastern Star #24, where she held various offices in each. Dorothy loved travel and enjoyed visiting, as she served many years as a volunteer canvasser for several charities. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband, Bob; son Bob Matheson (Pat) and their children: Kim & Steven; daughter, Natalie Bell (Philip) their children: Jaclyn Melanson (Victor), Brittany and Brandon; daughter, Valerie Pelerine and her children: Roberta Chapman (Nathan), Tanya and Kelsey; also four great-grandchildren: Kaleb & Gracie Melanson, Alanah & Dayna Chapman. She is also survived by nieces Dorthylane Hale, Karen MacLean, Marvella Smith and Pat Hale and nephew Gordon Logan (who were all raised as siblings); several other nieces and nephews, as well as several special great grandnieces and nephews, all of whom she was like a grandmother to. She was predeceased by brother Bill, sisters, Mildred Logan and Claudia McCann and infant great granddaughter Audrey Chapman. Her remains rested at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville, where the family received visitors on Tuesday Eastern Star Lodge held a service at the funeral home on Tuesday at 6:30. Funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at St Andrews Church with Rev. Jeff Lackie officiating. Burial was in Auburn Cemetery, Westville. Family flowers only, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Andrews Church or a charity of your choice
