Obituary of Fred Ross

Frederick Scothorne Ross, age 73, of Berwick, formerly of Salt Springs, Pictou County, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. Born August 12, 1939, he was a son of the late Herbert and Marie (Baillie) Ross of Salt Springs, Pictou County. He was a dedicated banker, having held various positions in New Glasgow, Summerside, PEI, Stephenville, Nfld., Sydney, Weymouth, Lunenburg, and retired as manager of Berwick branch of the Royal Bank in October 1995. During these years, he had held various positions in several organizations, including Kinsmen, Kiwanis, Lions, Gala Day committee, Board of Trade and Apple Capital Museum of Berwick. He was methodical and ethical in all aspects of his life. He was a humble man. He is survived by his wife Ethel (MacDonald); son, Vernon, West River Station, brother, Donald (Joyce), Kanata, Ont.; sister-in-law, Janette Morrison (Gus), Hampton, NB; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by son Adrian and brother-in-law Grant. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Eagles Funeral Home. His funeral service was held 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, at St. Luke’s United Church, Salt Springs with Rev. Jim Webber-Cook officiating. Burial took place in Stillman Cemetery, Salt Springs. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Luke’s United Church, or charity of one’s choice
