Obituary of Arnold Cock

Arnold "Junior" Russell Cock, 61, of Loch Broom died at his home on June 13, 2009 after a very brief illness. Junior had many jobs, but mainly he was a farmer, taking over the Durham family farm from his father in 1970. At 16, his first full time job was driving the milk truck for Scotsburn Dairy, later jobs included driving the snow plough for the Department of Transportation and operating his dump truck business. He later worked on the Cock Cinnabar family farm after he retired from his own farm business. Junior loved machinery, vehicles, snowmobiles and four-wheelers, the bigger and faster, the better.y A bachelor, Junior got great joy from his family. He lived family life through the happy marriages of his brothers and sisters and this included his many nieces and nephews who loved him and will miss him. One of his big adventures was to snowmobile into Labrador with family members. He is survived by a large family, sisters Carol (Peter MacKay) Braeshore; Norma (Ian MacCara) Plainfield; Betty (Jim Burns) Lower Truro; Janice (Ivan Millen) Hazel Glen; Janet (Sam Matheson) Westville, and brothers Bobby (Donna) Durham; Floyd (Cherie) Plainfield; Ivan (Karen) Sylvester; Wayne (Kathy) Pictou and Brian (Marguerite) Loch Broom. He was predeceased by his father Arnold Rutherford and mother Lola Mae Cock. Cremation has taken place under the care of Eagles Funeral Home in Westville. A visitation will take place on Wednesday June 17 from 5 to 7 PM; followed at 8:00 PM by a celebration of Junior’s life in the chapel of Eagles Funeral Home on this same day.
