Obituary of Sandy Woodworth

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved member of our family, Sharon Alexandra “Sandy” Woodworth, 66, of Truro, formerly of Halifax and Pictou Co. Sandy passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow, she is a daughter of Muriel (Embree) Boyce, Westville and the late William Boyce. Sandy began her school years in Westville. Later, as her father was in the military, she moved to New Brunswick and then Halifax, where she graduated high school. Sandy’s earlier years were spent in the hospitality industry in Halifax. She finished her degree from the University of Waterloo and began her new career with Addiction Services in Pictou and later in the Truro area. She was highly regarded in her profession. Sandy helped many people and loved nothing better then to sit down with friends and family and have a good chat. She had a quick wit, a great sense of humour, and she lit up the room with her presence. She will be greatly missed by her mother, her son Ray (Joselyn), Westville; grandsons, Matthew and Christopher, Westville; grand-daughter Samantha Russell (Jeff), Trenton ; great grandchildren, Shila and Jeffrey Russell; sisters Janice, Halifax, Gayle Marie Grant (Barry), St. Andrews; Charmaine, Ontario; brother Ken (Terry) Boyce, Calgary; aunt Joan Embree, Westville. She was predeceased by her husband Ray Woodworth. Cremation has taken place. Her funeral service was held 11 a.m. Saturday June 29 at Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville, with Father Donald Boudreau officiating. Interment tppk place in the Holy Name Cemetery, Westville. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital. www.eaglesfuneralhome.ca
