Obituary of Robert Imlay

William “Robert” Imlay, 51, South Main Street, Westville passed away on Saturday, August 30 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow on October 13, 1961, he was a son of the late Edward and Margaret (Grimaldi) Imlay. Robert was a life long resident of Westville. He had worked at Maritime Steel for many years and was an adherent of St. Paul United Church. Robert was a very quiet, reserved person who enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his nieces and nephew. He will be sadly missed by his sister, Katherine Groves (Bob), New Glasgow; brother, Joe, Green Hill; special sister, Shauna Burke (Blair), Halifax; nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Spears, Donald and Jennifer Imlay; Glenn, David, Christina, Tonya, Christopher and Jonathan Groves, and Elizabeth MacNeil; Raymond and Sylvia Imlay; Shauna Hill and several great nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Robert was predeceased by his brother, Raymond, and sister in-law, Betty Ann Imlay. Visitations will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. His funeral service will be held 2o’clock Wednesday from Eagles Funeral Chapel with Rev. Doug Pilsworth officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Pleasant Valley. Donations in his memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Kidney Foundation.
