Obituary of Jack Bowles
John James “Jack” Bowles- It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of John James “Jack” Bowles on October 13, 2013. Born in Caledonia Mills, Antigonish Co., on January 5, 1933, he was a son of the late Colin and Nelly (Bray) Bowles.
Jack was a carpenter by trade. He loved hunting and fishing, feeding and watching the birds at his feeders- the humming birds, chickadees, song sparrows, and all the other wildlife in his back yard. He also loved his two cats Charlie and Sam. A man of great strength, unwavering faith, and great sense of humour, Jack provided unconditional love and support to his family, through good times and bad.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Eileen (Koszkulics); daughters, Cathy MacEachern (Kevin); Brenda (Vernon Ross); sons, Stephen (Jan McNevin), and Glen; grandchildren, Stephen, Trevor, Troy, Tyler, Adam, and Jenna Bowles and Stephanie Cranham (Barry); great-grandchildren, Hayley, Chloe, Summer, Skyler, Chastity, Sophie, and Chase; brother, Willie Joseph; and sister Margaret McNeil (Pat).
He was predeceased by sisters Helen Cunningham, Loretta MacDonald, Isabel Worth, brother
Colin A. Bowles; and step-mother Catherine.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held 2 o’clock Thursday Oct. 17 at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with Father Donald Boudreau officiating. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
