Obituary of David Russell
William David “Dave” Russell, 58 of Central West River formerly of Westville passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at his residence.
Born in New Glasgow, Dave was a son of Sally (Russell) Emery.
David grew up in Westville before moving to Ontario where he lived for over twenty years. He returned to Pictou County two years ago. He was a truck driver for Toronto Auto Auctions for several years. Dave enjoyed country music and had a love for horses and animals, and had a special love for children.
He will be sadly missed by his partner, Marie MacPhee, sons. Cory (Brenda), Westville; Jimmy, Alberta; daughter Charity, Westville; stepchildren, Kayla Shakeness (Robert), Hopewell; Matthew Gordon, Alberta; grand children, Dawson, Skyler, Angus James “AJ”, Emily, Kaiden and Callie. He is also survived by his sisters, Cindy Emery ((David Green), New Glasgow; Tracey Emery (Philip Borden), Stellarton; brothers, Scott Emery, Quebec; Troy Emery, Westville; Trevor Wood (Crystal), Westville; Mike Emery (Polly), B.C.; special aunt, Betty Wood, Westville and uncle, Jim Russell (Helen), Mt. William.
Besides his mother, he was predeceased by his uncles, Clarrie and Angus Russell and Chester Wood.
Cremation has taken place. His family received visitors on Saturday at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. His memorial service will be held 4 o’clock Sunday at Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with the Rev. Charles MacPherson officiating. Interment will be in the Auburn Cemetery at a later date. Family flowers only, donations in his memory may be made to a charity of you choice.
