Obituary of Tom Hale

Thomas Moore “Tom” Hale, 72 of Westville formerly of Halifax, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2014 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow with his wife and family at his side. Born in Westville, he was a son of the late Tom and Sarah Melinda “Lynn” (MacDonald) Hale. Tom grew up on South Main Street, Westville, and after graduating high school worked at the Bank of Nova Scotia. In 1961, he moved to Halifax to work on the water front. He retired after 42 years achieving the position as Terminal Manager with Logistics Corporation. He lived in Lower Sackville and after his retirement returned to Westville. He was a member of St. Paul United Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Tom and his wife Jean celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2011. He was a loving husband who was very proud of his children and grand children. Tom will be sadly missed by his wife Jean (Landsburg), daughter, Bonny Eagles (Art), Westville; sons Tom (Tracy), C.F.B. Gagetown; Chris (Brenda), Lower Sackville; Tim (Shannon), C.F.B. Gagetown; grand children, Laura, Artie, Jenny and Maria Eagles; Tom “T.J” Hale; Chris and Diana Hale; and Hunter Hale; great grand children, Dmitri and Nicolas and Emma; brother, Bill (Muriel), Halifax; sister-in-law and brother- in -law, Dorothy and Bob Cameron, Westville and close family friend, Fred (Andrella) Hodder, Westville. Tom rested at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with visiting on Sunday His funeral service will be held Monday, January 27 from St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Westville with the Rev. Doug Pilsworth officiating. Donations in Tom’s may be made to St. Paul United Church, Westville, the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of ones choice.
