Obituary of Roy Munro
Roy Alfred Munro, age 60, of Union Centre, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at home.
Roy was a son of the late John Vernon and Anne (MacQuarrie) Munro.
He was a single dad for many years, “Mr. Mom”, who enjoyed children, coached hockey, was a volunteer fireman with Alma Fire Dept., drove a school bus and was a mail courier. A musical person, Roy played in various bands and always had a joke to share.
Roy will be dearly missed by his wife Sandi; sons, John (Andrea), Halifax; Allie (Dawna), Halifax; Justin, B.C.; and Jonathan (Nicky), Ont.; daughter, Katlyn, at home; very special grand-daughter Scarlett, Ont.; sisters, Sharon Gates, Truro and Brenda Tate, Yarmouth; brother, John, Fredericton, NB; close friends, Ron and Barb Fultz and Karen and Shane Marshall.
Roy is resting at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with visiting from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday. His funeral service will be held 2 o’clock Sunday from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with Bonnie Langille officiating. Spring burial will be in St. Andrew’s Cemetery, Gairloch. Family flowers only. Donations in Roy’s memory may be made to Highland Consolidated Residential Centre Foundation.
