Obituary of Dexter Vint
With deep sorrow, we announce the death of Dexter Ian Vint at his home on Tuesday, February 18, 2014. Dexter was born on Christmas Day, 1950 to the late Bert and Romaine (Wood) Vint.
Dexter always put his family first and will forever be loved and missed by his wife, the former Marie Fraser; children, Denise (Chris), Oklahoma, Ian (Kyra), and Robin of Westville; his beloved grandchildren: Tre, Juwan, Kaelyn, Abby, Olivia, Dexter, Rogan, and Ian Jr; sister, Glenda Mader (Frank); brothers, Dennis (Bernadette) and Gary (Sylvia); mother-in-law Elva Fraser; and his furry buddy Sophie.
He was employed at 3D Auto Parts, Stellarton. Dexter enjoyed singing in the choirs of St. Paul United Church, Westville and later First Presbyterian Church, Stellarton. He was always quietly helping others. Over the years he organized benefits for those in need and coached rugby and hockey. He was a proud native of the “Rifle Range” and cared deeply for his Town of Westville.
Visitations were held on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. His funeral was held Saturday February 22 at 2 o’ clock from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with Rev. Doug Pilsworth and Rev. Charles MacPherson officiating. Family flowers only.
