Obituary of Wally MacNeil

Wallace “Wally” MacNeil, 58,, Westville passed away on Friday, March 14, 2014 in the Aberdeen Hospital, with his family by his side. Born in New Glasgow, on March 8, 1956, he was a son of the late Arthur and Daisy (Grist) MacNeil. Wally greatly enjoyed his escapes to the Rockies for fishing with his good friends, and could be found in his barn fixing anything he could. He was employed for 35 years by Nova Scotia Power and had recently retired. Wally was a loving husband and a wonderful father and grand father. He greatly enjoyed helping his neighbours and anyone else who needed it. Wally will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 37 years, Jennie (Best); daughters, Susan, Tara and Jennifer (Adam); two beautiful grand daughters, Keily and Adrianna and his chosen son Kevin Boates. Wally also leaves behind sisters; Diana Walsh and Ella; brothers, Robert (Maxine), Leslie, Dwight (Cindy) and Henry (Vicki); mother-in-law Ora Best; numerous brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by father-in-law, Clarence Best, brothers-in-law George Best and James Robert Walsh. Wally rested at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville, with visiting on Saturday . His funeral service was Monday March 17 from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with Captain Neil Abbott officiating. Spring burial will be in the Auburn Cemetery Family flowers only, donations may be made to Palliative Care.
