Obituary of Bruce Cassidy

It is with deep sadness that the family announces the sudden death of their dear son, brother and uncle, Bruce Stephen Cassidy, 52, of Eagle Plains, Yukon, formerly of New Glasgow. Bruce passed away on July 16th 2009 in Dawson City, Yukon. Bruce was born in Halifax on May 25, 1957, the youngest son of Raymond and Jean (Fraser) Cassidy and enjoyed growing up in New Glasgow with his family. He moved to the North as a young man where he appreciated the culture and the vastness of the region. Bruce enjoyed working with people and spent many years employed at various locations in the North West Territories and the Yukon. Bruce will always be remembered for his great sense of humour, his love for his family and his kindness for others. Bruce appreciated good music, enjoyed sports, travel and reading. Bruce enjoyed his journey and took great pleasure in telling the stories of his adventures, both great and small. His memory will always be treasured in the minds and hearts of his parents, Ray and Jean Cassidy, his brothers David (Paula), Is. East River; Rick, Calgary, his sisters , Karen, St. Albert, AB, and Cheryl (Huck MacInnis) Millstream, Nieces, Pamela, Tanya and Ashley Cassidy and nephews, Graham (Kara Wood) and Steven Cassidy(Sueann Syms) Grand Nephews, Brett Hayman and Zachary Cassidy. The family will be honoured to receive visitors on Thursday, July 23, 2009 at Eagles Funeral Home in Westville from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 pm. A service of remembrance will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville, with Father Donald Boudreau presiding. Interment will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens, Sylvester.
