Obituary of Joe Little

John "Joe" Little, 59, of Hopewell, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 21, 2009. Born in Island East River, Joe was a son of the late George and Catherine (Saunders) Little. In his early years Joe worked on his family farm, the envelope factory, Sobey’s, and Gas Go. He also was a long time manager of the parts department of Bridge Street Motors, Stellarton. Joe enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved watching sports and was a devoted Montreal Canadians Fan. Joe’s grandchildren were his pride and joy and his favorite past time. He will always be remembered by his family as a private person who had a quick wit and a devilish smile. Joe is survived by his wife of 29 years Rosalie; daughters Jolene Little (Jason), North River; Juanita Gerrior, Calgary; Cathy Grant (Stephen), Hopewell; Paula Gerrior (Stirling), Hopewell; Carol Wall (Dan), Olds, Alberta; son, Leo Gerrior (Dawn), MacPhersons Mills; grandchildren, Bailey, Braden, Madison, Leanne, Johna, Josh, Wanda, James, Stevi, Jacolbi, D.J., Corey, Leah, Charlee; several great grandchildren. He is also survived by brother, George "Geordie" Little, Hopewell; sister Gloria Rumley (Donnie), Hopewell; and several nieces and nephews. Visitations will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. His funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday from Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Stellarton with Father Peter MacDonald officiating. Family flowers only.
