Obituary of Francis Smith

Francis Smith, 65, Westville Road, Westville passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 10, 2009 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Walter and Elizabeth (Langille) Smith. Francis was a an employee of Trenton Works for over 40 years, working in the later years in the punch and sheers. He enjoyed animals, especially his pet dogs; liked to dance and took a great interest in tv, watching the old black and white movies. He loved to joke with his family and friends, especially the children. Francis will be dearly missed by wife Audrey (Sponagle); son Kevin, New Glasgow; daughter Kenda, Halifax; and step- daughters Cindy Pennington, New Glasgow; Jeannie White, Westville and special grand children. Nickie, Tom and Jennifer; Alicia ; Brianna and Brandi.; his first wife Karen (Hubley) and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Kelly; step daughter Ann (Pennington) Harris; sisters Lillian Swan, Joan MacKay and Betty Smith and brothers, Garfield and Chester Smith. Visitations will be held on Thursday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. His funeral service will be held 2 o’clock Friday at Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville. Burial will be in the Auburn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice
