Obituary of Eleanor Langley

The Toronto Blue Jays have lost their best fan today. Eleanor Nelson (Chisholm) Langley, passed away August 2, 2014 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, three days short of her 94th birthday. Born in Sunny Brae, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Ida (Robertson) Chisholm. She is the mother of 2 children, Glenn (Faye), Drumhead; Linda Rutherford (Terry), St. Williams, Ont.; beloved grandmother of Jason, Natalie, and Sherry, loving great-grandmother to Kaitlyn, Ashley, Brandon, Haley, and Nicholas. She was the great-great grandmother to Jessica and was delighted and surprised at her latest named Ellie, after her. She is also survived by step children, Joyce McDonald (Mike), Westville; Sandy Deagle (Debbie), Hamilton, Ont.; step grand children, Michael McDonald (Joanne), Truro; Michelle McDonald (Matthew Hines), and Matthew McDonald (Monica Rogers), Westville; step great grand children, Xander and Zephyr; Keegan and Kacley; sisters-in-law, Emily Marshall, Westville and Isabel Salter (Allie), Westville; brother-in-law brother Gordon Deagle (Joan), Ottaw; special niece, Isabel Forthsythe, Westville. She was predeceased by her husband Bruce Langley; her companion of 62 years Rueben "Buddy" Deagle; sister, Violet Snyder Grover, brothers, Donald, Wilbur, Ross, and James Chisholm, Traveling, camping, bowling, playing ball, baking and bingo where some of Ellie's favourite things to do. She lived in Ontario for over 50 years and moved back to Pictou Co. in 2001 to reside in Westville, Drumhead, and most recently Glen Haven Manor. Visitations were held Tuesday fat Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Her funeral service was held 2 o’clock, Wednesday from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with Rev. Bonnie Wynn officiating. Cremation followed and inetremnt took place at Holy Name Cemetery, Westville.
