Obituary of Marion Chabassol

Marion Eveline Chabassol, Diamond Street, Westville passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at her home. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late John “Joe” and Eveline (Fraser) MacKenzie. Mom, Nannie, Great Grandma, and Great-Great Grandma was totally dedicated to her family. Marion will be sadly missed by daughters, Jo-ann MacDonald (Kevin), Westville; Janet Appleton (Keith), New Glasgow; Margaret , Riverview Residential Centre; Catherine Lochead (David), Sylvester; son, Francis (Jan), Westville; grandchildren, Scott Muir (Sheri), Troy Muir, Mitchell MacDonald, William MacDonald (Rachael), Heather Fields (Tyler), Francine Leach (Patrick), Reggie Chabassol (Vanessa), Ryan MacNaughton (Ashley), Janelle Flemming (Matt), Cobee MacNaughton (Carly), Ashley Richardson (Adam), Hillary and George Lochead; great grandchildren, Jacqueline , Alexander, Grace, Cecilia, Riayn, Maisey, Kinley, Kellen, Lennon, and Barrett; brother-in-law Bernie Chabassol; sisters in law, Theresa MacRae and Rita MacNeil (Joe). She leaves behind her life long (best friend) Lorna MacDonald. She was predeceased by the love of her life, husband, Reginald “Reggie”; brothers, Douglas, Calvin, Ballam, and Jack MacKenzie; and sisters, Marjorie Whooten and Jean Crosby. She was a member of the Holy Name C.W.L., the Church Choir, and Past President of the Dunvegan Mother’s Club. Marion rested at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville, with visiting on Friday . Her funeral service was held . Saturday from the Church of the Holy Name, Westville with Father Tom MacNeil officiating. Burial was in the Holy Name Cemetery, Westville .
