Obituary of Jimmy MacPherson

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James “Jimmy” Douglas MacPherson, Cowan St, Westville, who passed away peacefully, Nov 3, 2014. Born in New Glasgow, he was the son of the late Joe and Cavell (Duggan) MacPherson. Jimmy was a proud resident of Westville where he lived most of his life. He was a loving father, brother, and friend. His life’s devotion was to his family, especially his daughter Lacey. He is survived by his daughter Lacey, Westville;sister Marion Cameron, Westville; brothers, John (Shirley) Westville, Richard (Janice) New Glasgow and several nieces and nephews. Prior to retirement, Jimmy had been employed with Trenton Car Works. He loved to laugh, enjoyed motorcycles, watching western movies, sports and most of all spending time with his family. He was predeceased by his brother Joey MacPherson; nephews Michael and J.J., and brother-in-law, Murray Cameron. His funeral service was held 11 a.m. Friday Nov 7 at the Church of The Holy Name, Westville with Father Thomas MacNeil officiating. Burial took place in the Holy Name Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations may be made in Jimmy's memory to Canadian Kidney Foundation. Special thanks to the staff at the Sutherland Harris Dialysis Unit, Pictou for their amazing care.
