Obituary of Robert Morrison
Robert Samuel Morrison, 77 of Union Centre passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2015 in the Aberdeen Hospital with his loving family at his side.
Born in Union Centre, he was a son the late Robert and Latisha (Taylor) Morrison.
Robert was a miner for over 27 years in the MacBain and Greenwood Mines. For the past several years, Robert was caretaker of the Holy Name Cemetery in Westville. He enjoyed camping at Brookside Campground but most of all, enjoyed his grandchildren. Robert was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 58 years, Dolorosa “Doll” (MacEachern); children, Loretta Reynolds (Marvin), Stellarton; Robert (Shelley) Union Centre; Darlene MacKean (John), Plymouth; Roddie, Westville; Darryl and Rose Lynn both at home; grandchildren, Angela Reynolds, Michelle Burke; Amanda Morrison, Robyn Roy, Stacey MacDonald; James and John MacKenzie, Michael and Ryan MacKean; Mark, Alicia and Mikayla Morrsion and 15 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters Molly Cameron(Calvin) Coalburn, Ida Cameron, Coalburn; Faye MacLean (Jim), Union Centre and brothers Joe (Marguerite), Union Centre and Eddie, Riverton.
He was predeceased by an infant son Joseph in 1963; sisters, Annie Taylor, Jane Kenny and Florence Cameron and brother Willie.
Robert rested at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville, with visiting on Wednesday. His funeral service was held on 2 o’clock Thursday from the Church of the Holy Name. Spring burial will be in the Holy Name Cemetery.
