Obituary of Vivian Smith
Vivian Mae Smith, age 88, of Central West River, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Hodson, on January 27, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Anderson and Pearl (Johnson) Henderson.
Mrs. Smith welcomed everyone at her door, offering them her hospitality and good cooking. She worked hard raising her children and working on the family Century Farm. She also worked on various jobs over the years, including driving a school bus for over 37 years.
She will be sadly missed by children, George, Central West River; Ruth, Central West River, Mabel Burke (Russell), Timberlea, and James (Brenda), Elmfield; grandchildren, Kristine, Laura, Sarah Burke and Ben and Angelina Smith. She is also survived by sister Effie Paul, Ottawa; and brothers, John Henderson (Margaret), River John and Harvey, Toney River.
She was predeceased by her husband Blanchard and brother Andy.
Mrs. Smith irested at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with visiting on Sunday Her funeral service was held 2 p.m. Monday Feb. 23 from West River Presbyterian Church, Durham with Rev. Norman Marple officiating. Spring burial will be in Durham Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to West River Presbyterian Church or the Aberdeen Palliative Care. \
