Obituary of Nettie Cameron
Jeanetta “Nettie” Anna Cameron (Tattrie), age 103, of Mt. Thom, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 9, 2015 at Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow with her family by her side.
She was a daughter of the late Frank and Kate Tattrie. Nettie came to Mt. Thom at the age of 19, where she worked as a telephone operator and later married and raised her family on a farm in Mt. Thom. She enjoyed fiddle music, loved to dance and was a member of St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by sons, Chester (Marcia); Alvin (Glenda), Keith (Linda), Blair (Edie), daughter Loudell Stedman (Tony); several grandchildren and great grandchildren; son-in-law Allister Silver; daughter-in-law Eleanor Cameron; sisters Ruth Smith and Isabel Murray.
Mrs. Cameron was predeceased by her husband Chester; son Wesley; daughter Ruth Silver; brothers, Frank, Loyde, Russell, and Edward Tattrie; sisters, Jessie MacKay, Margaret Stewart, and Lillian Campbell.
Mrs. Cameron rested at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with visiting on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Her funeral service was held 11 a.m. Thursday, August 13, from Luke’s Presbyterian Church, Salt Springs with Rev. Iona MacLean officiating. Burial was in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
