Marion worked for 43 years at Scotiabank. She was a member of the Dunvegan Girls Pipe Band in her youth and later enjoyed many years as a member of the Fraser Holmes Memorial Pipe Band. Her involvement in this band, gave her great enjoyment, either participating in local events, being part of the International Tattoo in Halifax, or traveling to many destinations in the U.S. She cherished those memories and the friendships gained. Marion enjoyed reading and baking, winter escapes to sunny destinations, and annual shopping trips to Bangor. Family was everything to Marion and she welcomed the times when family was together. The annual July 1st and Labour Day back yard feasts were two such occasions.
The family is very grateful for the care and support given by Dr. Lori Wood, oncologist at the QEII, Dr. Gerry Farrell, along with the Palliative Care team and the V.O.N.
Marion rested at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with visiting on Tuesday. Her funeral service was held 2 o’clock Wednesday from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with the Rev. Doug Pilsworth officiating. Interment was in St. Phillip’s Cemetery, Westville. Donations may be made in Marion’s memory to the Palliative Care, Aberdeen Hospital.
