Obituary of Joyce Cormier

Joyce Lillian “Susie”Cormier, 82, of Grant Street, Westville passed away on Sunday , October 11, 2015 in the Aberdeen Hospital with her family at her side. Born in Pictou, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Edith (Sarson) Beck. Susie was a special person who chose to be a stay at home mom, dedicating her time to look after two special needs children and later babysitting grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Christine, at home; Noreen “Pinky” Vint (Robin Gratto); sons Walter (Debbie), and Clifford (Cecilia ); 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grand-daughter; step-children, Jimmy and Harvey, PEI, Sheila Edwards, Ont.; 9 step-grandchildren; sister-in-law Isabel Beck, Pictou; special cousin Shirley MacNeil (Larry), Pictou; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter; children, Linda and Roy; sisters Catherine and Elsie; brothers, William, Henry, Gerald, George, and Douglas Beck. Special thanks to the E.R. and I.C.U. Staff of the Aberdeen Hospital and Dr. Tom Guzowski. Mrs. Cormier rested at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with visitations on Wednesday, October 14. Her funeral service was held at 2pm on Thursday, October 15 from Eagles Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Darlene Jewers officiating. Donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association.
