Obituary of Gordon Halliday
Gordon Murray Halliday, age 76, Mark Road,, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2009 in the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in White Hill, he was a son of the late Jesse (Reid) Halliday and Adam Murray Halliday.
Gordon was a millwright by trade, working at Scott Paper and retiring from Kimberley Clark in 1998. He enjoyed traveling, especially his trips to Mexico and his camp in Caledonia. His family was always most important to him, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 44 years, Wanda (MacLeod); daughters, Katie Lays (Herbie),Mark Road; Linda Sinnis (Ted), Mark Road; Charlotte Halliday (Cliff Keddy Jr.), Hopewell; Melissa Jevne (Matt), Alberta; a son Malcolm (Margo), Mark Road; and ten grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son Daniel; brother Alec Halliday; and numerous half brothers and sisters.
Visitations will be held on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. His funeral service will be held 2 o’clock Monday from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville. Burial will be in the MacLean Cemetery, Hopewell. Donations may be made to the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Society.
