Obituary of Alden Baillie

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our dad in the early morning hours of October 27, 2015. Dad bravely fought an illness for several years and his death Tuesday morning brought to an end the love story that existed between Dad and our Mom, Pam Baillie. Next Tuesday would have been the celebration of their 59th anniversary. Mom was the love of his life. Dad was a talented carpenter and had built or repaired almost every house in the community of Westville Road, where he and Mom had made their lives. Dad was a homebody but took great pleasure in the visits from family and friends. Dad is predeceased by his parents John and Valentine (Langille) Baillie; and brothers Jack and Leonard. Dad is survived by his sister Grace, brother Gary (Carol), our Mom, Pam Baillie; four sons, Ron (Nancy), Bible Hill; Bruce (Jean) Lake Echo; Carl (Barb), Valley; Rick, Westville; a daughter, Pam Stokes (Brad), Wolfville. Dad was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather. A special thanks to the nurses and staff on the 4th floor of the Aberdeen Hospital for the quality of care and kindness shown to Dad in his final weeks. Cremation had taken place. His family received visitors on Thursday, October 29, at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. His funeral service was held 11 a.m. Friday, October 30, from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with the Rev. Bonnie Wynn officiating. Interment was in the West Branch Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Palliative Care Society of the Aberdeen Hospital.
