Obituary of Marg. Chabassol

Margaret Evaline Chabassol, age 56, of Westville, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 14, 2015 in the Aberdeen Hospital, with her family at her side, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Reginald and Marion (MacKenzie) Chabassol. Margaret attended TMR classes, the Kinsmen Centre in New Glasgow, and the Nova Scotia Youth Training Centre, Truro. Margaret was a Special Olympics Athlete. She loved to travel, dance, music, parties and family gatherings. She resided at home until the last number of years when she moved to Brook Haven in Riverton. She is survived by sister Jo-ann MacDonald (Kevin), Westville; brother Francis (Jan), Alma; sisters, Janet Appleton (Keith), New Glasgow; Catherine Lochead (David), Sylvester; 13 nieces and nephews, and 16 great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by an aunt Theresa MacRae, Ont. and uncle Bernie Chabassol, New Glasgow. Thanks to all of the staff at Brook Haven, Dr. Straub and Dr. MacDougall, the nurses and staff of the Aberdeen and special friend Helen Salter. Margaret rested at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with visiting Wednesday . Her funeral service was held 11 a.m. Thursday, Dexcember 17 from the Church of the Holy Name, Westville with Father Peter MacDonald officiating. Burial was in the Holy Name Cemetery.
